There is no standard mind. Never was.
Most approaches to neurodiversity assume a default, then make room around the edges — an accommodation here, an exception there, small adjustments to help the people who don't quite fit. We start somewhere else.
Every brain is wired differently — how it focuses, what it notices, where it finds energy and where it spends it. That isn't a problem to be managed. It's just the truth about people.
Here's the other truth.
The workplaces, schools, and systems most of us move through were built for a narrow band of that range. So if you've spent years working twice as hard for half the recognition, the friction is real — but it was coming from the gap, not from you.
The work begins where you do — your instincts, your wiring — then builds the strategy and structure around them.
The bearing is already there.
Our job is to make it usable — and to make sure it gets heard.
I began my career inside one of the world's most influential firms — entry-level, but close enough to support the woman who would go on to lead it for the next thirty-plus years. I co-founded and then spent twenty years running my own company, then carried that entrepreneurial lens back into the corporate world.
That contrast made one thing undeniable: the system rewards a certain kind of mind — and quietly underserves everyone else.
I'm a divergent thinker myself, so this isn't a pattern I studied from the outside — I've lived it. The intelligence that gets overlooked, the quiet cost of working against the grain of your own mind, the effort of translating yourself into terms a neuronormative world will accept. I know that from the inside.
By the time I built Habgood Partners, I'd seen the same thing from every vantage point…
BAIN & COMPANY. Forrester Research. Dun & Bradstreet.
The pattern held everywhere: the people who saw what others missed were the ones the system had the least room for. Habgood Partners is what I built to change that — to start from how a mind actually works, and build the strategy, language, and structure around it.
01
People who spot what others miss
02
People who challenge what others accept
03
People who bring thinking most systems weren't built to support
See the people. Understand how they think. Release the energy.
How We Work Together
Every engagement runs on the same method — the Four Bearings™ — read at whatever altitude fits: an individual, a leader, or a whole organization.
The Four Bearings™
We start with you, not from a generic framework. We map how you're wired — where your attention goes, what drains it, where your best work comes from — then build the strategy, language, and structure around it.
I advise; you decide.
The point isn't to hand you a system to follow — it's to give you a bearing you can navigate from, one that's yours to keep.
